It’s been a whole year since Retro hit the big screens, and Pooja Hegde is clearly feeling it! The actress took a moment to look back, celebrate and express a heartwarming feeling of being a part of Retro, helmed by director Karthik Subbaraj and co-starring Suriya.
Marking one year of Retro, Pooja Hegde dropped a heartfelt note on social media that looked less like a formal post but more like a personal message. “One year of RETRO ❤️ Storms, a ligament tear, endless mud, our boat catching fire (Suhas, forever a hero), and an island full of snakes,” she wrote and continued, “By all accounts, it should’ve been chaos. But it wasn’t.
It was filled with peace, good vibes, a whole lot of laughter and a feeling of making something purely for the love of it.”

Alongwith the note, Pooja dropped BTS glimpses of the fun, chaos and little candid moments from the sets.
Retro received positive reviews from the audience and critics, with many hailing Pooja Hegde and Suriya’s performance and the chemistry shining throughout the intense plot. The film emerged as a major commercial success with its worldwide box office collection closing at Rs.97.44 crore gross.
Now, Pooja gears up for her next big-screen spectacle, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Directed by David Dhawan, the rom-com promises to showcase her in a lighthearted and breezy avatar, and her fans are curious to see what she has in store. The film releases in theatres on June 5.
