“My brain used to shut off”: Shiksha Mandal fame Jaihind Kumar gets candid about what it took to play Irfan in Harrd Disk

Actor Jaihind Kumar, known for his work in Shiksha Mandal and Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai, is set to play the role of Irfan in the action-thriller Harrd Disk. The genre-blending movie is written and directed by Udoyrraj Baruah and is all set to release on August 21.

Set against a politically charged background, the film also features Nanda Yadav(Shiksha Mandal) and Arnav Chandel(Hello Bachchon) in lead roles.

Kumar revealed that he is playing the character of Irfan in the movie. “Without spoiling too much, I would like to describe him as ambitious, someone who could go to any lengths just to fulfil his goals”, he added.

His comment about what makes Irfan stand out from the typical movie protagonists was noteworthy. He said,” Irfan is a grey shade character unlike the typical all-good heroes we see and know of. He is extremely gritty with unusual passion and conviction and yet, carries a day-to-day simplicity in his heart just like us.”

Kumar particularly mentioned how he needed help from the director for playing this role. “This character is vastly different from who I am in real life. I took assistance from the director to understand what exactly he needs on the screen. I had to research a lot, study his behavior and most importantly – understand his intentions,” Kumar remarked.

Answering what makes the movie stand out from the other movies in the same genre, Kumar said,” Unlike other action films, this movie will not try to give the audience an out-of-the-world narrative. It is shining in the simplicity of the characters and the humanness of them while also providing engaging twists and turns in the story.”

Kumar recalled how night shoots were the biggest challenge of the shoot. “Naturally, nights are made for sleeping. Shooting continuously at isolated places during late nights rigorously was very challenging. My brain used to shut off from 2:30 AM to 3:00 AM. Our director(Udoyrraj Baruah) knew about this and gave me a 10-15 minute break accordingly”, he recollected.

Backed by Common Enterrtainment in association with Nayamigro Media and Xanthin, Harrd Disk promises a gripping blend of suspense, action, humor and political intrigue.
The ensemble cast also includes Rahul Arora, Siddhartha Mukherjee and Chhabi Gauragai in pivotal roles.
