Sanjay Dutt has addressed the recent conversations surrounding his appearance on Shekhar Suman’s show, clarifying that the remarks that sparked reactions on social media were part of a scripted segment and should not be viewed as a reflection of his personal thoughts or beliefs.

Following the episode, several people reached out to the actor on social media, with some expressing surprise over his comments while others strongly disagreeing with what was said. Responding to the reactions, Dutt acknowledged the sentiments via a video byte to put the context of the appearance into perspective.

In his clarification, the actor explained that the segment was scripted, as is often the case with television shows, and that he was performing according to the script. He further stated that several elements of the conversation were part of the performance and its larger context, and therefore should not be interpreted as his personal views or feelings.

Dutt also emphasised the importance of the trust and affection he shares with his friends and well-wishers, adding that he would not want a scripted performance to create any misunderstanding about what he genuinely believes.

*He said* _”I would like to clarify that it was never my intention to hurt, offend, or disrespect the sentiments of any individual, community, or institution. My remarks were made in the context of a scripted conversation intended to be light-hearted and humorous. The spirit behind them was similar to the humour and satire seen in films like Munna Bhai, particularly the concept of “Gandhigiri,” which was intended to convey a message of love, warmth, togetherness, and goodwill. Unfortunately, my words were interpreted outside of that intended context”_

The clarification puts the recent conversation around Dutt’s appearance in context, with the actor making it clear that the segment was scripted and that the remarks made during the performance should not be mistaken for his personal views.
