Anushka Sen’s Korean Film Jeju Olle Unveils Poster and Teaser at Busan Film Festival Ahead of North American Premiere

Anushka Sen continues to mark new milestones in her international journey as her Korean film Jeju Olle unveils its official poster and teaser at the Busan International Film Festival. The development adds another significant chapter to the actress’s career, following her emergence as the first Indian actor to headline a South Korean feature film.

Directed by Jin Kwang-Kyo, Jeju Olle is a Korea–India co-production that brings together Indian and Korean talent through a story of love, loss, music and healing. Starring Anushka Sen alongside South Korean actor Kang Hyung-seok, the film represents a cultural collaboration between the two entertainment industries.

For Anushka, the project marks a significant step beyond Indian entertainment. Having spent over 15 years in front of the camera, the actress has ventured into Korean cinema, taking on a multilingual role that required her to perform in Korean, Hindi and English. She plays Alisha, an Indian singer who travels to Jeju Island following a personal loss and finds an unexpected connection with a former K-pop idol, played by Kang Hyung-seok.

The film’s unveiling at Busan comes ahead of another international milestone. Jeju Olle is set to have its North American premiere on October 21, 2026, at the 27th Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) in California. Selected for the festival’s Korean Spotlight programme, the film is scheduled to screen at 7:30 PM at Regal Edwards Big Newport.

The premiere will introduce the Korea-India production to North American audiences, extending its international journey beyond South Korea. For Anushka, it also presents another opportunity to represent India on a global platform.

Speaking about the upcoming screening, the actress said, “Representing India in different parts of the world has always been a dream for me. Every time I get an opportunity to represent my country, it feels super special, and I feel extra grateful for it.”

Produced by Storyworks Co., Ltd. and Lucifer Production, Jeju Olle brings together the musical sensibilities and storytelling traditions of two cultures. With its poster and teaser unveiled at Busan and its North American premiere approaching, the film marks another step in Anushka Sen’s journey as an Indian actor exploring international cinema.
