Shiksha Mandal fame Nanda Yadav on Playing Lakshmi in HARRD DISK: “She Isn’t a Conventional Heroine; She Exists in the Grey”
Actress Nanda Yadav, known for her work in Shiksha Mandal, Why Cheat India and Shantiniketan, is all set to play Lakshmi in the upcoming action-comedy suspense thriller movie titled HARRD DISK. The genre-blending movie is written and directed by Udoyrraj Baruah and is all set to release on August 21.
Set against a politically charged background, the film also features Jaihind Kumar (Shiksha Mandal, Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai) and Arnav Chandel (Hello Bachchon) in lead roles.
Talking about her character, Nanda shared, “What fascinated me the most about Lakshmi was that she wasn’t a conventional heroine. She exists in the grey, and that’s what makes her so compelling. She is bold, fearless and unapologetically driven. Once she’s entrusted with responsibility, she pursues it with unwavering determination, no matter how complex the circumstances.”
“As an actor, characters with contradictions are always the most exciting to explore. Lakshmi is ambitious, intelligent, vulnerable, morally complex all at once. Those layers made her incredibly rewarding to portray and I believe audiences will find her both intriguing and unpredictable,” Nanda reflected on what drew her the most to play Lakshmi.
Lakshmi will also be seen as a highly strategic woman. While talking about the contributions of Lakshmi to the story, Nanda Yadav commented,” Rather than simply reacting to events, she often influences their course, making choices that constantly shift the dynamics of the story. Her motivations are rarely straightforward, which makes it difficult to predict where her loyalties truly lie or what her next move might be. It’s this moral complexity and unpredictability that make her such an intriguing character, adding layers of suspense and ensuring the audience is always questioning her intentions.”
The film HARRD DISK combines action, comedy and drama. When questioned Nanda about what aspect of her role she enjoyed performing the most. She replied,” Without a doubt, the action. It was my first time performing action sequences, so there was a mix of excitement and nervousness going into it.i had to train, trust the process, and push myself, both physically and mentally. There were moments that felt intimidating, but that’s exactly what made the experience so fulfilling. As an actor I love taking on challenges that help me grow, and this role gave me the opportunity discover a completely new side to myself.”
Sharing about her work experience,Nanda said,”Looking back, the action sequences are some of my favorite memories from the shoot, and I hope this is just the beginning of doing more action-driven roles in the future,” the actress signed off.
Backed by Common Enterrtainment in association with Nayamigro Media and Xanthin, HARRD DISK promises a gripping blend of suspense, action, humour and political intrigue.
The ensemble cast also includes Rahul Arora, Siddhartha Mukherjee and Chhabi Gauragai in pivotal roles.
