Interestingly, one of the people who played a crucial role in helping him during those early years was Smriti Irani.

In a heartfelt recollection, Vikrant shared that, “Back in 2006, when I was trying to make ends meet as an actor, a boy came running from an adjacent set to me saying that, – aapse (Smriti) ma’am milna chahati hai – She invited me over to her set. She’d seen a couple of my TV shows back then, and she told me that, – “Vikrant, you have tremendous potential. I wish you all the very best.” – Very gladly, she even shared her shaam ka nashta with me. And she sat with me, she spoke to me without knowing me, knowing me just through television screens. And I remember very, very vividly our conversations. It was a very long conversation.”

What Vikrant didn’t know at the time was that Smriti Irani’s support would go beyond words. Within a month, he received an offer for a television show that proved to be a major help during a difficult phase of his career. Years later, he learned that it was Smriti Irani who had recommended his name to the production house.
