Is Sidharth Malhotra entering Vvaan to uncover a mystery or to become part of its legend? The teaser sparks a new theory

Leading man and protagonist Sidharth Malhotra’s journey in The Vvaan makes the teaser far more intriguing than a simple “man enters a haunted forest” setup: he doesn’t seem to be running into Vvaan by accident. He appears drawn towards it.

And that opens up a rather wild theory, what if Sidharth’s character isn’t merely the outsider who enters Vvaan to discover its secret? What if his journey is actually about becoming part of the folklore that already exists inside it?

The teaser establishes Vvaan as a place people are specifically warned to stay away from after sunset. The rule isn’t presented like an ordinary village superstition either. We’re told that someone who entered after dark never returned. The forest therefore has a history, and whatever lies inside it appears to have existed long before Sidharth arrives.

But then comes the interesting part: Sidharth crosses the boundary anyway.

Why him? The teaser gives us no straightforward answer. Instead, it shows his character becoming increasingly connected to the strange world inside the forest. There are mysterious forces, a goddess-like presence, ritual imagery and an atmosphere suggesting that Vvaan isn’t merely a physical location, it is a world governed by its own mythology.

So here’s the conspiracy theory, perhaps Sidharth isn’t entering Vvaan to solve an old legend. Perhaps he is walking straight into the next chapter of it.

That would also explain why the film seems so interested in the idea of destiny. His arrival could be the event that an ancient folklore has been waiting for, the outsider who enters the forbidden space and, instead of simply escaping it, becomes connected to the force protecting it.

And Tamannaah Bhatia’s character could be the crucial link. The teaser hints that the supernatural force doesn’t remain confined to the forest, with her character becoming caught in its orbit. Suddenly, Sidharth’s entry into Vvaan isn’t just an adventure anymore; whatever he encounters there follows him back into his own world.

There is also the larger mythology being built around the film, with the makers already expanding the world through The Legend of Vvaan comic book. That makes the idea of Vvaan being an existing legend, rather than one Sidharth simply discovers, even more fascinating.

Maybe the real mystery isn’t what Sidharth will find inside Vvaan. Maybe it is what Vvaan will turn Sidharth into.

Backed by some of the country’s most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that attempts to take Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand as DOP and Visual Director, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

The Vvaan arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, promising a big-screen fantasy folklore experience where the visuals, music, mystery and scale come together to create a world audiences will want to step into.
