‘It Felt Very Special From Day One’: Sports Analyst And Actor Harishankar Narayanan On Being Part Of The Marco Universe And Working On Kattalan

Sports analyst and Sirai, Label fame actor Harishankar Narayanan is currently being seen in Marco makers’ action thriller Kattalan, which is now running in theatres. During the Mumbai premiere, the actor spoke about his experience working on the film, his character, and being part of the larger Marco universe.

Speaking about the atmosphere on set, he added: “There was a great vibe on set, especially with Pepe, myself, Kabir Bhai, Sunil Garu, and everyone else. We all gelled together really well. The shoot was intense, but there was also a lot of mutual respect and positivity off-camera,” Harishankar added.

Opening up about his role, the actor shared: “My character has a strong presence in the narrative and operates in a very intense space. Without revealing too much, I can say the audience will see me in a completely different shade compared to some of my previous works like Sirai and Label. There’s an attitude, emotion, and a certain unpredictability to the character,” he shared.

Speaking about being part of the Marco universe, Harishankar said, “Absolutely, it felt very special from day one. When a universe is already loved by the audience, there’s a huge responsibility to maintain that intensity and emotional connection. What drew me most to Kattalan was the rawness of its world and the way the story blends action, emotion, and character depth,” he said.

Recalling his first reaction to the project, he added, “The moment I heard the narration from Paul sir, I felt the project had a unique energy and scale. Also, getting the opportunity to work with such talented people in Indian cinema and being part of a large cinematic universe that audiences are emotionally invested in was something I didn’t want to miss,” Harishankar concluded.

Directed by Paul George, Kattalan stars Antony Varghese in the lead alongside Dushara Vijayan, Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadish, Siddique, Anson Paul, Parth Tiwari, and Raj Tirandasu in pivotal roles.
