It’s Official: Kalyani Priyadarshan to Lead Opposite Ranveer Singh in Pralay, Marking Her Bollywood Debut after her breakout success Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra

The wait is over. Ranveer Singh and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s highly anticipated survival thriller Pralay has officially gone on floors in Mumbai, with Kalyani stepping into the female lead opposite Ranveer.

The film marks a major milestone for the actress as she makes her Bollywood debut with one of the most ambitious genre projects currently in production. Following her recent box office phenomenon Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.
Kalyani now takes on a central role in a high-scale survival thriller alongside Ranveer Singh.

For Ranveer, Pralay marks his first major project following Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The film is being mounted as a high-octane zombie survival thriller, with the team beginning an intense shooting schedule across Mumbai.

Set against a dystopian Mumbai ravaged by a deadly outbreak, Pralay follows a married couple as they fight to survive a city consumed by chaos. While the makers are keeping key plot details under wraps, the film is expected to blend large-scale action, survival drama and horror elements, with its characters pushed to extreme limits.

The casting brings together Ranveer’s high-voltage screen presence and Kalyani’s growing popularity, setting up a fresh pairing for Hindi cinema. For Kalyani, the project marks her much anticipated Hindi film debut.

Directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, Pralay marks his theatrical directorial debut. Jai has previously co-directed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere and is known for his grounded, realistic storytelling.

With filming now underway, Pralay is shaping up to be a major genre spectacle, while giving Kalyani a high-profile launch into Bollywood opposite Ranveer Singh.
