In what marks a big leap for visionary storytelling in Indian cinema, Bollywood producer Mahaveer Jain, under his banner Mahaveer Jain Films, has officially come on board to present the Kannada science-fiction social thriller Lambodhara 2.0. Directed by Simple Suni, the film is gearing up to captivate audiences across the country with a theatrical release in both Kannada and Hindi on November 20, 2026.
The collaboration materialized after director Simple Suni met Mahaveer Jain to share the vision, scale, and making of the film. Blown away by its fresh theme and the integration of a real humanoid robot on screen, Jain immediately backed the project for a pan-India reach, encouraging a simultaneous Hindi dub. Speaking about this exciting development, director Simple Suni shared: “We have made a high-concept science-fiction film exploring happiness, artificial intelligence, and the influence of technology on human life. One of its biggest attractions is JIA, a real humanoid robot playing a character in the film, which we believe is a first-of-its-kind attempt in Indian cinema. Mahaveer Ji was extremely impressed by the concept and encouraged us to release it in Hindi as well. We are delighted to have Mahaveer Jain Films present our movie.”

Adding a major technological milestone to Indian cinema, the film stars JIA, an advanced humanoid robot created by Bengaluru-based Machani Robotics, who plays an important character in the story. Written and produced by Anil Shetty, who also makes his debut as the lead actor, the film stars a talented ensemble cast including Kunal Kapoor, Saachi Bindra, Meghana Gaonkar, and Mac Dsoza. The technical crew boasts top-tier talent, with cinematography by Santosh Rai Pathaje and a striking musical score by Veer Samarth.
