Pavitra Rishta Fame Mahesh Shetty to Star in Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj Alongside Subodh Bhave

Actor Mahesh Shetty, widely known for his memorable performances in popular Hindi television shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Pavitra Rishta, and Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, along with his work in films and digital projects, is set to appear in the upcoming spiritual biopic Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj, starring Subodh Bhave and scheduled for release on May 29, 2026.

Directed by Sharad Singh Thakur a filmmaker known for his deep-rooted devotion and storytelling rooted in faith and spirituality the film explores the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, bringing his message of faith, peace, and inner balance to the big screen.

Speaking about what drew him to the film, Shetty shared, “I have always been spiritually inclined, and with Baba, the connection had been established a long time back when I first visited the temple. So when this movie was offered to me, I took it like a blessing and never gave it a second thought.”

Reflecting on the film’s impact on him personally and spiritually, Shetty added, “It was a beautiful journey. Each day on the set unfolded a new story about Baba. I got to learn so much more about him and feel a lot more connected with him now.”

Recalling memorable moments from the shoot, he said, “The best part about this shoot was that each person connected with this film came in with a lot of faith in their heart and love for Baba, and worked with the same devotion towards the completion of this film. So each moment felt surreal in a way.”

He also credited the director, adding, “The credit goes to our director Sharad ji for having the faith and putting this project together, and for the vast knowledge he carries about Baba ji.”

The film also stars Subodh Bhave, Samikssha Bhatnagar, Hiten Tejwani, Smita Tambe, Mohit Gupta, Hemant Pandey, Aaratii Naagpal, Varsha Manikchand, Hardeep Kaur, Aniruddh Dave, and Garima Agarwal. Produced by Balram Garg, Balvir Singh, Sharad Singh Thakur, Khadag Singh Gaur, and Neelam Singh, the film is presented by Anisha Films International in association with PC Jeweller and BSR Film Productions. The all-India release will be handled by First Film Studios LLP.
