“Shooting in my hometown made this cameo even more special”: Shaheer Sheikh on joining COLORS’ ‘108 Base Hospital Uri’

It is always a delight for audiences when a beloved on-screen pairing reunites to recreate the magic that once won hearts. Bringing that nostalgia to life, COLORS’ high-octane medical-military drama, ‘108 Base Hospital: Uri’, as Shaheer Sheikh officially stepped into the intense narrative that has been winning hearts for a cameo role, reuniting with Erica Fernandes.

Shaheer essays the role of Ved, Naina’s (Erica Fernandes) childhood best friend. Long before Naina became the dedicated Doctor-Major everyone is proud of, Ved knew the girl behind the uniform and her warrior spirit. As the high-pressure environment of the military hospital pushes Naina to her limits, Ved watches her resolve weaken and he thinks it’s because of her connection with Aniruddh (played by Gashmeer Mahajani). Recognizing the emotional tailspin, Ved gets on a mission to remind her of the strength she has always carried deep within herself. Will he succeed in rebuilding Naina’s shattered resolve, or will his protective presence completely rewrite the equation between Naina and Aniruddh?

Speaking about joining the show, Shaheer Sheikh says,“It’s been such a special experience shooting for my cameo in 108 Base Hospital – Uri. What made it even more memorable was that I got to shoot in my hometown, Bhaderwah for the first time! Re-uniting with Erica after some memorable shows together was fun and exciting. I was amazed at the scale and expanse that producer Samar Khan and his team brought to the show. Working with this crew and the team of COLORS, has been one of my most cherished experiences.”

Erica Fernandes shares, “I was genuinely very excited to work with Shaheer. We had been waiting for a long time for an opportunity where we could come together and work on a project, and thanks to Samar sir, that finally happened with this wonderful show. Shaheer and I have known each other for a long time, so bringing that comfort and familiarity into the equation of Naina and Ved was really special. It was also lovely to reunite with him in Bhaderwah, his hometown. I’m really happy that our paths finally crossed on a project that means so much to all of us.”
