“Some Roles You Play, Some Roles That Change You”: Krishnavataram Fame Siddharth Gupta Reflects on His Journey as He Celebrates Janmashtami
Siddharth Gupta has been receiving immense love and appreciation for his portrayal of Bhagwan Krishna in Krishna in Krishnavataram . His performance has struck a chord with audiences, making his portrayal of Krishna one of the most special aspects of his journey this year. On the occasion of Janmashtami, Siddharth took a moment to look back at his transformative journey of portraying Krishna and shared a heartfelt gratitude post, reflecting on everything the role taught him along the way.
He said, “There are some characters you play… and some characters that change you. Kanha was both. 🦚💙 2026 has been one of the most special years of my life. Krishnavtaram released, and with it came the privilege of playing Bhagwan Krishna, a journey that began almost three years ago. For years, I read, prepared, observed, questioned, learned and tried to understand him. But somewhere between preparing to portray Krishna and trying to understand his teachings, I realized that Kanha was teaching me too. To love without holding on. To do your karma without being consumed by the result. To find strength in surrender. And to keep your heart light, even when life isn’t. Today, on Janmashtami, I look back at this journey with nothing but gratitude. Sharing a few moments of Kanha from my journey, and wishing each one of you a very Happy Janmashtami. 🙏🏻 Some roles end when the camera stops rolling. Kanha, I know, will always remain within me. ❤️🦚”
Through his heartfelt note, Siddharth beautifully captures how portraying Krishna became more than just an acting assignment it became a deeply personal and spiritual journey. With the love for his performance continuing to grow, his Janmashtami reflection offers audiences a glimpse into the preparation, learning and emotional connection behind his portrayal of Kanha.
