“We Have Worked With The Vision That Our Story Should Be Told To The World”: Yash Reflects On The Global Ambition And Cultural Pride Behind Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana
Speaking at the 2nd trailer launch, superstar and co-producer Yash opens up about treating the project not as a movie, but as a sacred devotion, aiming to show India’s rich history and culture to the entire world.
Ramayana, produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. With every asset, from its teaser to its trailer, the excitement around the film has been continuously soaring.
The momentum reached a new high yesterday in Bengaluru, where the team came together to launch the film’s much-awaited second trailer. The event was nothing short of a spectacle, but the real highlight came when Yash, who co-produces the epic through Monster Mind Creations, took the stage. Known for his passion, stardom, and vision for Indian cinema on the world stage, Yash shared a perspective that resonated with everyone. He spoke not just as an actor or producer, but as a representative of Indian heritage, explaining how the entire team has poured their soul into this project.
Talking about the journey and the true heart behind the film, Yash shared, “Everyone has spoken about the film. You all have an idea. But I would like to say a few things. Ramayana. We have not treated it like a movie. Everyone who has come here is an artist. Everyone has got an opportunity through devotion. We have all worked with the vision that our story should be told to the world.”
Yash further addressed why taking this timeless Indian story to an international level is so important for our cultural identity today. “Many people might ask, what happened? Why did you make it international? First India, right? India is important. But I think, as Indians, we all have to understand how much we respect ourselves, how much we respect our culture; at the same time, we should let the whole world know what we are made up of, what we represent, and who we truly are. What is our history? What is our culture? If someone else says it, you cannot say it. Or if we sit here and say we are good in our own way, it is of no use.”
Yash’s words highlight the ambition and respect with which Ramayana is being launched. Bringing together scale, visionary storytelling, and visual effects, the team isn’t just making a project but also creating a global cinematic event based on Indian pride. By taking our greatest story to the highest international standards, Yash and the makers are ensuring that the world witnesses the true depth, majesty, and beauty of Indian civilization.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic will release worldwide in IMAX, with Part 1 arriving on November 5 for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
