Why Shruti Haasan’s Hair Has Become a Beauty Signature Brands Want to Collaborate With

Shruti Haasan’s latest association with L’Oréal Paris puts the actor back in a category where she has long had strong brand relevance: haircare. The campaign itself keeps things light and playful, using a simple misunderstanding around “volume” to bring the product’s key proposition into the conversation without making it feel like a conventional product plug.

Shruti’s long, dark hair has become a recognisable part of her visual identity. Whether styled for the red carpet or worn in a more natural, textured manner, it gives brands an existing beauty narrative to build on rather than creating one from scratch. Her latest L’Oréal Paris collaboration, centred around its volumising haircare proposition, taps directly into that established association.

What also makes the campaign work is Shruti’s personality. The playful tone allows her to be herself rather than simply playing the role of a celebrity endorser, making the haircare message feel more natural and entertaining.

This is not the first time Shruti has been positioned within the haircare space. In 2015, Emami brought her on board as the face of Kesh King, with the actor endorsing its Ayurvedic medicinal oil in southern markets and its Aloe Vera Herbal Shampoo nationally.

A decade later, beauty marketing has evolved towards stronger product-led conversations around benefits, ingredients and performance. In that environment, Shruti’s advantage lies in an existing beauty identity that already feels authentic to the category.

For brands, the fit is therefore less about simply putting a celebrity in a haircare campaign and more about finding someone whose personal image can reinforce the product proposition. Shruti’s latest collaboration demonstrates that balance well a recognisable beauty signature, a strong product fit and enough personality to keep the campaign fun.
