Ektaa Kapoor Calls Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga Emotional & Timeless, Declares Vedang Raina the ‘Surprise Package’: What an outstanding breakout performance

Producer-filmmaker Ektaa Kapoor took to her social media handle to share her views on Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film, Main Vaapas Aaunga, after attending its special screening. The filmmaker heaped praise on the film’s emotional storytelling, performance and music, while applauding director Imtiaz Ali and composer AR Rahman.

She described the premise of the film in a detailed post on X, but what stood out was her praise for Vedang Raina. A mesmerised Ektaa Kapoor declared Raina the “surprise package” of the film and also hailed his performance as an “outstanding breakout performance.”

“But the surprise package of the film is #VedangRaina. What an outstanding breakout performance! I had seen him in The Archies and liked him there, but here he’s truly in top form. He is unbelievably charming, and as a sardarji, he is absolutely going to win hearts,” she wrote in her post and also expressed glee with “So impressed with what he has done in this film!”

Vedang Raina adds yet another strong title to his body of work with Main Vaapas Aaunga. The cherry on top? Entering the romantically enchanting world of Imtiaz Ali and becoming the front face of a story that’s emotional and timeless, one that creates an unheard-of, unbelievable nostalgia.
