After a Long Time, a Film That Is This Big on Music: Prem Keetanu Brings Back the Big Bollywood Album

After a long time, there seems to be a Hindi film that is really big on music. The teaser of Prem Keetanu gives a glimpse of that with “Undi Bundi”, a fun, high-energy song that instantly stands out.

The song has a young, catchy and full-on Bollywood feel ! the kind of music that feels made for college crowds, friendships, love and heartbreak.

And “Undi Bundi” is just the beginning. Prem Keetanu has a seven-song album with a huge line-up of singers including Sachet Tandon, Parampara Tandon, B Praak, Armaan Malik, Papon, Jubin Nautiyal, Madhur Sharma, Altamash Faridi, Shashi Suman and Brijesh Shandilya. Rappers Little Bhatia and Mazemusicc also feature on the album.

The music has been composed by Sachet-Parampara, Annkur Pathak, Rahul Mishra, The Rish and Shashi Suman, with lyrics by Kunaal Vermaa, Sachin Umrtosh, Prince Dubey, Sandeep Singh Sardaraa and Meer.

The film, directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, is set around a group of young people dealing with friendship, first love, one-sided love and heartbreak. Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed, Aparshakti Khurana, Rakesh Bedi and Nikhil Vijay lead the cast.

For Karki, Prem Keetanu is a very different space after Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai and Aspirants. This time, the director is going for something lighter, younger and more entertaining.

The film is also the first production from Gaurav Verma’s Avanika Films. Verma has previously produced films such as Darlings, Bhakshak, Jawan and Badla during his time at Red Chillies Entertainment.

With seven songs and a massive mix of singers, Prem Keetanu feels like a throwback to the time when the music album was a big part of a Bollywood film’s identity.

And if “Undi Bundi” is anything to go by, Prem Keetanu could bring that feeling back.

Prem Keetanu releases worldwide in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
