At the ongoing 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival this year, actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Diana Penty have delivered some of the most striking fashion moments at the French Riviera. Diana Penty’s appearances have been heavily inclined into Indian craftsmanship while still feeling uniquely modern. Her second Cannes look came dressed in a striking red gown by Amit Aggarwal, a designer renowned for his futuristic silhouettes and experimental textiles. The ensemble carried sculpted structures, fluid metallic textures and dramatic detailing.

What stood out was the textile as it drew inspiration from Ikat, the traditional dyeing and weaving craft that has held a solid ground in India for years. The actress paired her look with a bold choker, glowing highlighter and red-toned eye makeup that elevated the look.

And now, global icon Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the queen of Cannes, took over the red carpet in a sculpted gown by Amit Aggarwal. The outfit featured a mermaid finish and also included a sheen dupatta. To complete the look, Aishwarya wore her hair in soft, loose curls and opted for pink-toned cheeks and eye shadow for makeup with a reddish-brown lipstick. She elevated her ensemble with diamond-studded jewellery adorned with striking blue stones.
