Sonal Chauhan Reveals Dealing with Insecurities of Her Own, Shares Advice on Managing Difficult Days & Bottled-up Emotions: “Believe in yourself and never compare yourself with anyone”
An actor’s life may look glamorous, but it’d be right to say that they also face their fair share of difficult days and inner turmoil. During a recently held event, Sonal Chauhan opened up about her way of dealing with difficult days, complex emotions and shared advice on ways to tackle them.
“Don’t keep feelings pent up inside because when you keep feelings pent up inside, they keep building. It is important to have someone around, like I have my sister. Sometimes, even if I’m feeling a little low, I just tell her I’m talking, I’m venting, let me just talk. I may be exaggerating, sometimes I also exaggerate but it’s very important to put it out there and it’s very important to not judge yourself because it’s not just me and I would like to tell the youth here. I have started acting when I was really young. I had my insecurities. There will be people around you who will make you feel insecure; you will not feel sure about yourself because there are people around you who will put you down. Believe in yourself and never compare yourself with anyone,” she says.
The actress believes spirituality also helps in calming down and easing the inner turmoil. “That is what the youth is bringing and that is what we need from you. So keep that intact and have those people around you who you can talk to. If you don’t have someone to talk to, just write it down. If you are not understanding what’s going on, write down that ‘I am not understanding’ – I don’t know what it is but I’m not feeling good. It’s very important. It sounds very silly but it helps. So I do that. And yes, I have good days and bad days, I deal with them. I’m also spiritual, so I pray. It really helps. If you are spiritual, just go sit down in front of your God or just look up and talk to him,” she adds.
Sonal Chauhan’s belief in expressing emotions, writing them down or simply sharing them helps in navigating oneself better. And honestly, we’re all ears.
