Varun Dhawan Opens Up About Recreating Salman Khan’s Iconic Chunnari Chunnari & Keeping the Legacy Alive in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The much-awaited trailer of Varun Dhawan starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is out, and it promises a rollercoaster of laughter, chaos and romance – the classic David Dhawan way! During the trailer launch event, Varun Dhawan shared his experience of recreating the classic track Chunnari Chunnari, featuring Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen, and keeping the legacy alive.

Recreating the song with Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur was “definitely exciting,” Varun describes and shares that the team heard the song in Scotland. “Ramesh created the song beautifully,” he shared and added, “All the songs were made by Ramesh, while the music company handled the production side.”

He continues, “The challenge was about committing to the song and the situation in the film. In our movie, the context in which the song appears is completely different because it’s a comedy film. There’s a fun “double trouble” situation happening, whether the character is with one girl or both girls, that confusion itself creates the humor,” sparking further excitement among the audience.

In addition to this, Varun Dhawan also dropped a big hint that the film might also feature another actress entering during the climax – leaving the audience beaming with excitement to know who is the one!

Directed by David Dhawan, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai brings together Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur and Maniesh Paul under one roof for the first time. Billed as a hilarious rom-com, the film is scheduled to land on the big screens on June 5.
