Keerthy Suresh Makes A Striking Appearance At TIFF In A Contemporary Kanjivaram Look
National Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh made a striking appearance at the world premiere of her Tamil film Dorothy at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), bringing together cinematic prestige and distinct Indian fashion. The actor, who has consistently built her career on versatility, powerful performances and an eye for meaningful stories, attended the international festival in a look that celebrated her South Indian roots while keeping the styling contemporary. The actor attended the prestigious festival alongside director Karthik Subbaraj, co-stars Sananth and Rishikanth, and producers Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jai. Dorothy had its world premiere at TIFF, where the film received a spectacular standing ovation, adding another memorable chapter to Keerthy’s growing international presence.
For the red carpet, Keerthy opted for a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Kanjivaram aesthetic, wearing a rich burgundy and antique-gold ensemble by designer Karan Torani, styled by Ami Patel. The look features a structured, textured cropped blouse in a muted gold-brown tone, paired with a voluminous maroon skirt inspired by a Kanjivaram saree, complete with a broad metallic-gold hem and subtle green edging. Draped around her shoulders and wrapped across the front is a matching brocade-style dupatta, featuring intricate gold motifs and an ornate border that brings the entire silhouette together. The ensemble retains the grandeur of traditional Indian dressing while its structured blouse, contemporary draping and skirt silhouette give it a distinctly modern red-carpet appeal.
Complementing the outfit was an elaborate set of Kerala-based jewellery, which added a traditional South Indian richness to the look. Keerthy wore layered gold necklace, finished with a striking dark black teardrop pendant at the centre. Her earrings followed the traditional gold aesthetic, with intricate detailing and a drop design that framed her face beautifully. The jewellery, with its temple-inspired craftsmanship, balanced the opulence of the outfit without taking away from its contemporary styling.
