Komal Nahta, one of India’s most respected trade analysts, is back with a fresh season of his podcast Game Changers: The Music Series. This edition shines a spotlight on celebrated singers, composers, and music maestros as they share their creative journeys, inspirations, and the untold stories behind the music that has shaped generations. The latest episode featured Himesh Reshammiya.

Known for his prolific hit-making ability and pioneering sound, Himesh Reshammiya has built one of the most remarkable discographies in Indian cinema. Talking about his early exposure to the film industry, the influence of his father Vipin Reshammiya, and his massive bank of compositions built over decades, the music maestro shared, “I wanted to work on my own terms. That was clear! My father was the first person to introduce electronic instruments in India. He did well and went on to become a producer. Whatever I am today is because of him. He gave me access that most musicians don’t have, but producers do. During my childhood, all the top people from the industry used to come to my house. He signed a film with Salman, was in talks with Aamir, and did a film with Mithun. I wanted to use the access I got through him to get the 300–400 songs I had made to be a part of films. I had 300–400 songs before joining the industry, and now I have 10,000. I have my own music label, so I don’t have to go out searching for music.”
