Dia Mirza Opens Up About Playing Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa in Operation Safed Sagar, Calls it a “Privilege of a Lifetime”

Dia Mirza has acquired a layered identity for herself. As an actress, she keeps the ball rolling with the recently released Netflix series, Operation Safed Sagar, wherein she brings depth and detail to her character, Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa, a force who celebrates the resilience, fortitude and unwavering spirit of the women who stood during Kargil War.

As the series continues to gain momentum, Mirza took to her social media handle to share her experience of playing Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa and also meeting her in real life. Describing the experience as a “privilege of a lifetime,” she says, “As artists, we don’t make the parts we play, the parts make the sum total of who we become in this journey of life. With Operation Safed Sagar, Dia Mirza adds another riveting title to her body of work, a title that pays tribute to the families whose quiet courage and resilience became an inseparable part of the narrative.

Directed by Oni Sen, the series has been created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and is produced by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil of Matchbox Shots LLP along with Mehboob Pal Singh Brar of Feel Good Films. The series premiered on August 7, exclusively on Netflix.
