PVR Inox Pictures Denies Reports of Initiating Legal Proceeding on Veteran Filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani, Rubbishes Ongoing Rumours as “Misleading and Speculative”
Vashu Bhagnani has been over the news for initiating legal proceedings against the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai over the alleged unauthorized use of songs, Chunnari Chunnari and Ishq Sona Hai from Biwi No.1. Amid the ongoing headlines, reports were rife that the veteran filmmaker was staring at another legal flashpoint involving the cinema chain, PVR Inox Pictures, with a 3-film agreement with Vashu Bhagnani’s production house, Puja Entertainment.
As a part of the alleged understanding, PVR Inox had reportedly paid Rs. 100 crore as refundable advance to the production house and had agreed to release Mission Raniganj, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The understanding was that if the films failed to generate the expected results, Puja Entertainment would refund the outstanding balance.
Now, the official handle of PVR Inox Pictures has cleared the air surrounding the online chatter, and has rubbished the rumours. The statement read, “We’ve noted a recent media report about us and Mr. Vashu Bhagnani. The story is misleading and speculative – and does not reflect the facts or the nature of the relationship between the parties. PVR INOX Pictures and the Bhagnani family share a longstanding, cordial professional relationship built on years of collaboration and mutual respect.”
It also highlighted healthy and professional relationship between PVR and Jackky Bhagnani. “We also wish to appreciate Jackky Bhagnani’s professionalism in all dealings between our companies – his commitment to carrying forward Vashu Ji’s legacy has always been evident. Our interactions with him have always been constructive and collaborative, and we greatly value the positive relationship that we have built over the years.”
While concluding, PVR Inox Pictures urged media outlets to refrain from drawing conclusions based on unverified news and reports. “We remain committed to maintaining strong relationships with our industry partners and conducting our business with transparency and professionalism. We urge media outlets to exercise due diligence and refrain from drawing conclusions based on unverified reports,” it stated.
While the online rumours and speculations continue to attract eyeballs, the statement by PVR Inox puts a clear stop to false buzz.
