Ram Charan: Continuing his Dedicated Devotion to Ayyappa Deeksha for Over 22 Years

Ram Charan, the global star known for his big-screen extravaganzas and grounded personality, is often recognised for his spiritual side, particularly his dedicated observance of the Ayyappa Deeksha. The entertainment industry can be demanding with the glamorous appeal and rigorous shoots; however, despite the never-ending hustle, Ram Charan continues to maintain the tradition for more than two decades. And his dedication is often cited as a testament to his down-to-earth nature and his commitment to Sanatana Dharma.

During the 41-day spiritual austerity undertaken by devotees, Ram Charan consistently observes a 41-45 day Deeksha (vratham) before visiting the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Among the many strict customs that he follows, the actor wears the Ayyappa Mala every day during this time. He also keeps his lifestyle very simple and calm. He wears black attire, walks barefoot, follows a sattvic (pure-vegetarian diet), and also focuses on peace, devotion, and self-control.

Ram Charan brings significant lifestyle changes during this period, including sleeping on the floor and avoiding worldly indulgences. The actor has been consistent for over 20 years in adhering to the Ayyappa Deeksha tradition, and he follows it even during promotions and hectic work schedules.

Recently, Ram Charan attended a family celebration hosted by Allu Arjun for his brother Allu Sirish ahead of pre-wedding events. And it was seen in several pictures that the actor followed his Deeksha customs by wearing a mala and a black outfit. His appearance at the event, while staying rooted to his traditions, drew admiration from his fans and well-wishers alike.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ram Charan is gearing up for the big release of his upcoming film, Peddi, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports drama is scheduled to release in cinemas on 30th April, 2026.
