Bhumi Satish Pednekkar delivered a richer, more contemporary spin on archival dressing as she accepted the ‘Best Actor Popular’ award for The Royals at a recently held ceremony. For the night, she revisited one of Nikhil Thampi’s most iconic eras “Indian Punk” collection, a line that was groundbreaking then and remains timeless today.

For her first look, Bhumi opted for a golden metallic full-length skirt paired with a deep brown, body-skimming long coat featuring sharp, structured shoulders. She amplified the royal undertone of the look with custom earrings by Shri Paramani Jewels and a curated selection of unconventional, regal accessories that seamlessly matched the sculptural outfit. Keeping her glam minimal straight hair, soft makeup, she allowed the silhouette and textures to command full attention.

In another outing, Bhumi crowned black as the colour of the season with a striking all-black Nikhil Thampi ensemble. The highlight was sheer sleeves transformed into kundan, studded gloves, bringing ceremonial armoured quality to the blouse. The tied-waist skirt elongated the silhouette, balancing drama with elegance. A kundan choker and matching earrings echoed the embellishment on the sleeves, creating a unified visual thread. To finish, Bhumi threw on a cropped faux-fur jacket—an unexpected texture that elevated the look from bold to unforgettable.

Whether she expresses royalty through earthy palettes, kundan-work, jewels, zari, or crystals, Bhumi Satish Pednekkar continues to redefine what ‘modern royal’ dressing feels like with each ensemble catching the light, and our attention, in its own distinct way.
