*Birthday Special! Karishma Tanna’s Bollywood Work Deserves a Second Look not for Scale, but for Sincerity*

Karishma Tanna is a name synonymous with reinvention and exploration. Ever since she stepped into the space of films and shows, she has showcased a penchant for staying unconventional, always! She started from television and evolved herself with each project and each character, only to add meaning to today’s Hindi cinema with acclaimed projects like Scoop and Hush Hush, among others.

Karishma made her television debut with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2001), and continued her stint with shows like Kahi to Milenge, Kkoi Dil Mein Hai, and even essayed a negative role in Ek Ladki Anjani Si. In June 2018, Karishma delivered a show-stealing performance in Sanju by essaying the role of Pinky alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. In 2022, she lent weight to the world of Hush Hush, a story revolving around the lives of women, when their lives intersect in unexpected ways, when an unforeseen event unravels the facade of their lives. Karishma essayed the role of a police officer that allowed her to step beyond glamour and showcase a more authentic, gritty side of her craft.

In 2023, Karishma made a significant transition in her career by starring in the drama series Scoop by Hansal Mehta. The actress played Jagruti Pathak in a series revolving around shocking murder of a journalist that thrusts a crime reporter into the nexus of police. Karishma, with her fine emotional growth and acting range, pulled off the character with utmost believability and also won the Critics Best Actress in a Web Series award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024. She was also honoured with the Best Lead Actress award at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards 2023 in Busan.

And now, Karishma is set to maintain her streak of serving meaningful performance with her upcoming film, Mom 2. The actress has begun shooting for the same. Known for bringing life to complex and challenging roles, Karishma is poised to level up with Mom 2 under the direction of Girish Kohli.
