COLORS’ stars share how they celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and what Bappa means to them

Karan Wahi from COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ shares, “Ganesh Chaturthi has always been one of those festivals that brings so much excitement with it. The moment Bappa arrives, there is a different energy everywhere, people visiting each other, meeting friends and family, the celebrations, the aarti recited by everyone – everything just feels more festive. At the same time, I’ve always loved the quieter side of the festival too. Making my own eco-friendly Bappa idol has become something I genuinely look forward to every year. There is something very satisfying about starting with a little clay and slowly shaping it into Bappa. This year, I got to share that experience with some of my Khatron Ke Khiladi contestants. It was nice to see how something as simple and pious as making Bappa’s idol can bring everyone together. That, for me, is the real beauty of Ganesh Chaturthi. It’s about the people you celebrate with. This year, I hope Bappa brings happiness, good health and lots of love to every home. Ganpati Bappa Morya!

Rithvik Dhanjani from COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ shares, “Ganesh Chaturthi has been a part of my life for over two decades now, so I have grown up with the festival in many ways. As a child, I remember the excitement of preparing for Bappa’s arrival and how the celebrations would bring everyone together. Over the years, making the idol myself has become an important part of that celebration for me. I started making eco-friendly Bappa idols a few years ago, and it is an annual tradition. I love that it gives me a chance to be involved in the festival right from the beginning rather than simply bringing an idol home. This year, getting to make Bappa’s idol with some of my fellow Khatron Ke Khiladi contestants was a lovely experience because I got to share something that has become such a personal tradition with them. It was wonderful watching everyone get into it and enjoy the experience together. This Ganesh Chaturthi, I wish everyone happiness, good health and Bappa’s blessings. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”

Sneha Wagh, who plays Vidya in COLORS’ ‘Mahadev & Sons’ shares, Sneha Wagh, who plays Vidya in COLORS’ ‘Mahadev & Sons’, shares, “One thing I love about Ganesh Chaturthi is how it brings people together. There is always family and friends visiting, food being passed around, people sitting together and the house feeling fuller. In my family, there is a tradition of the eldest son bringing Bappa home, and I’ve always loved that sense of everyone coming together for the pooja. And then, of course, there are ukadiche modaks, which I can never say no to! I also feel that, in the times we’re living in right now, we have started measuring celebrations by how big or elaborate they are, when the real beauty of Ganeshotsav is in that feeling of togetherness. That same feeling of togetherness is something I also see reflected in Vidya’s world in Mahadev & Sons. Her world is so rooted in family, and a lot of her strength comes from the relationships she chooses to hold on to. For me, that is what Bappa’s arrival should bring into a home too: warmth, people you love and a little more time for each other. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”

Gashmeer Mahajani from COLORS’ ‘108 Base Hospital Uri’ shares, “Ganesh Chaturthi has always been a time when I like to pause in gratitude and seek Bappa’s blessings. This year, I feel especially grateful to Bappa for the success and love that 108 Base Hospital – Uri has received. Being part of a show that brings the stories of our soldiers and doctors to the forefront has been very special for me, and this Ganesh Chaturthi, I find myself praying for them even more. I pray that Bappa continues to protect the soldiers who are out there fighting for us and gives strength to the doctors who work tirelessly to heal and care for them. Here’s hoping that Bappa blesses everyone with good health, wisdom and the strength to keep doing their best. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”
