Karwa Chauth Watchlist: Microdramas & OTT Series
Between the sargi, the mehendi and the long wait for the moon, Karwa Chauth has one more
tradition: a good watchlist. This year, two vertical microdramas lead it, with a few OTT series for
when you want a longer binge.
Quick view: both microdramas put a fasting, devoted spouse at the heart of the story, and both ask
what a promise of seven lifetimes is worth.
Two microdramas to watch on Quick TV and Moj+ first
1. Kaisa Ye Ishq Hai…?
A husband who once fasted for his wife is betrayed by her, and he walks away to return as someone
far more powerful. Chirag kept a Karwa Chauth fast for Leena and promised to be with her in every
lifetime. After 15 years of marriage, she betrays him with Advait. This leads Chirag to leave but
determined to return. He then returns with a different identity as the CEO of a large conglomerate –
Yuvraj Oberoi – and Leena must face what she threw away. Cast for the series includes Ravish Desai,
Sejal Jaiswal, Saurabh Gamber, as the show revolves around the genre of love and betrayal, revenge,
drama, and hidden identity.
2. Naukrani Bani Bahurani
A wife keeps up her own six-year “fast” for a husband in a coma but gradually ends up working as a
maid in the mansion that is rightfully his. Naina (Sakshi Sharma) sells her prized belongings to raise
Rs 10 lakh for his surgery. She does not know that the protagonist, played by Nikhlesh Rathore, is the
missing heir to a billionaire empire. Creating another hurdle in the rise, the head-maid and her
daughter steal Naina’s identity and ancestral locket, until Abhinav sets things right to make his wife
the ‘Bahurani’. Casting Sakshi Sharma, Nikhlesh Rathore in this family melodrama and devotional
romance show, it provides riveting scenes and a plot that will let you keep coming back for more.
Four OTT series for the longer binge
3. Little Things (Netflix)
The gentlest couple on Indian streaming. Dhruv and Kavya are a young Mumbai couple who live
together, and the show follows their ordinary days: small fights, in-jokes, career worries and a lot of
comfort. Created by and starring Dhruv Sehgal, with Mithila Palkar as Kavya, it ran for four seasons.
4. Made in Heaven (Prime Video)
A stylish drama about Delhi’s big, expensive weddings and what lies behind them. Tara (Sobhita
Dhulipala) and Karan (Arjun Mathur) run a wedding-planning agency, and each wedding they plan
opens up a family’s money, class, secrets and expectations. It has two seasons. Story aligns with
different couple and a different marriage in each episode, while the planners’ own lives unravel.
6. Tanhaiyan (JioHotstar)
Tanhaiyan is a Indian Hindi-language romantic web series starring Barun Sobti as Haider Ali Khan and
Surbhi Jyoti as Meera Kapoor. Released as a 10-episode Hotstar series, it follows two emotionally
guarded people whose attraction at a wedding develops into a relationship complicated by grief,
guilt, and fear of intimacy it is a good pick for the gaps between rituals, since no episode needs the
one before it.
