Aditi Rao Hydari, who recently turned 37 on 28th October, is widely celebrated as a substantial actress who never shies away from breaking the confines on-screen. The pan-India star started her film journey in the South and has also expanded her appeal in Bollywood. 1. Aditi Rao stepped into film with her first Tamil project, Sringaram in 2004 and played a lead role of a 19th-century devdasi. In 2009, she made her Hindi film debut with Rakeysh Mehra’s Delhi-6.

2. She began her career as a Bharatnatyam dancer after developing an interest in the art form through her association with Leela Samson from the tender age of 11.

3. The actress carries a wild streak to her! Her favourite animals are cheetahs and pythons!

4. Aditi hails from two royal families of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and J. Rameshwar Rao of the erstwhile Raja of Wanaparthy. She’s also the great-granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the grandniece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam.

5. Aamir Khan’s wife and filmmaker Kiran Rao is her maternal first cousin.
