As Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana heads toward its worldwide release, Anupam Kher opens up about lending his voice to Jatayu and witnessing Indian stories win hearts globally.

Ramayana, produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. With every asset, from its teaser to its trailer, the excitement around the film has been continuously soaring. Apart from the scale, star power, and visual grandeur, what truly sets this project apart is its heart. From the very beginning, the team has approached the material not just as a project, but as a sacred responsibility. In an industry where promotional rollouts are often driven purely by marketing schedules, Ramayana has chosen a path rooted in Indian culture, tradition, and spiritual significance.

The excitement for the film is currently crossing boundaries, and leading the chorus of praise is Anupam Kher. After the positive early reactions to the film’s premiere in Los Angeles, Anupam Kher took to social media to share his pride and joy, talking about what it means to see the timeless epic reach audiences on such a massive international scale. He also opened up about his special connection to the project, sharing how personal it feels to bring the character of Jatayu to life with his voice.

Sharing his emotions, Anupam Kher shared:
Ramayana @iamnamitmalhotra”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic will release worldwide in IMAX, with Part 1 arriving on November 5 for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
