Sitarist Anoushka Shankar Calls Mumbai Show the ‘More Difficult’ Show Ever Done During Chapters Tour in India, Appreciates her Team & Crew for Making it a Success
Sitarist Anoushka Shankar is in the midst of an enticing Chapters Tour in India, drawing a larger number of classical Indian music lovers from across the country. Having completed three shows from the six-city India Tour, the sitar virtuoso revealed that the recently held Mumbai show turned out to be one of the most difficult shows to happen, as the evening tested her in a way she did not anticipate.
Despite the technical difficulty faced, Anoushka credited her band and the crew for keeping the show running, and thanked audiences for having her back. “I especially wanted to thank last night’s audience in Mumbai and my band and crew because it was one of the more difficult shows I’ve ever done,” she said, citing a “bizarre unsolvable technical issue” that made it difficult for her to keep her instrument in tune and play. “It was really hard and I could not have done it without my band and crew and without the audience having our backs,” she mentioned in her latest post.
Further, the sitarist added, “My crew are incredible, the venue was incredible, we were all trying to work on it, but I want to send the hugest thank you to my band because they had me with eye contact, and my crew, who are the best in the world. And to the audience – you had us and I love you,” she added. In her caption too, she drew focus on the strength of her band and her team, who successfully managed to keep the show going on!
Even during a challenging evening, Anoushka Shankar continues to prove why she remains one of the most respected musicians in the world – not just for her talent, but also for her deep appreciation for the people who walk along the journey.
After winning hearts with a soulful show in Mumbai, Anoushka Shankar is gearing up for her next show on 6th February in Pune, followed by Delhi on 7th February and wrapping it up in Kolkata on 8th February.
