Sanjay Mishra, Hemant Pandey, Aditya Srivastava and Rajesh Jais Grace the Grand Opening of Dev Bhoomi International Film Festival
The Dev Bhoomi International Film Festival (DBIFF) officially commenced in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, with celebrated actors Sanjay Mishra, Hemant Pandey, Aditya Srivastava and Rajesh Jais joining filmmakers, artists and cinema enthusiasts for the grand opening. The three-day festival aims to celebrate meaningful cinema while showcasing Himachal’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
Actor Sanjay Mishra says, “I attended this film festival two years ago, and it was completely packed. It felt wonderful to be back. We are often called artists, and yes, we are artists. But when artists receive the support of the government, it makes a world of difference. I appreciate the Himachal government for taking cultural initiatives like this. Such cultural programmes should continue, as they not only celebrate art but also promote tourism. I feel fortunate that the festival has opened with my film, and I’m looking forward to watching it along with all of you.”
Actor Hemant Pandey, who hails from Uttarakhand, spoke passionately about staying connected to one’s roots and applauded the government’s support for cultural initiatives. “Art and culture are the true identity of any state. While culture is created by its people, such meaningful platforms can only grow with the support of the government,” he said.
CID fame Aditya Srivastava congratulated the organisers for bringing an international film festival to Mandi and highlighted the town’s rich cultural legacy. “Mandi has long been known for its vibrant art, culture and traditions. I hope everyone supports the festival and helps make it a grand success,” he said.
Actor Rajesh Jais reflected on the transformative power of art, saying that culture preserves humanity and helps individuals discover themselves. “Art is not merely entertainment; it is the home of humanity. It teaches us about life, empathy and who we truly are,” he remarked.
With film screenings, panel discussions and interactions with renowned artists, the Dev Bhoomi International Film Festival is set to position Mandi as a vibrant destination for cinema, creativity and cultural exchange over the coming days.
