Episode 9 of The Society Season 2 saw a tense confrontation when host Munawar Faruqui directly addressed an incident between Deepika Aryaa and Mahima Gupta that left the house divided.

The conversation began when Mahima explained that she had been intentionally avoiding Deepika because she was uncomfortable around her. She narrated an incident from earlier in the day where Deepika was sitting with her leg stretched out. When Mahima bent down to talk, Deepika suddenly lifted her leg, which ended up hitting Mahima on the chin. Mahima said she chose not to escalate the situation and quietly walked away from the conversation.
Mahima also described another moment later in the day when she was expressing her opinion during a house argument. According to her, Deepika began mocking her with childish gestures. Mahima said she repeatedly asked her to stop, saying, “Aap jo kar rahe ho usse kuch nahi hone wala, bacchon jaise harkate mat karo.” However, the mocking continued, which eventually pushed Mahima to respond sharply. She told Deepika, “Main bacchi nahi hoon, aap apne bacchon ko samjhana aise.”

Mahima admitted that mentioning Deepika’s children was wrong on her part, especially since Deepika reacted strongly by saying, “Main mummy hoon aur aap mere bachchon ko le aaye.”

At this point, Munawar questioned the housemates about whether Mahima was in the wrong. Four contestants raised their hands, with Lekha stating that bringing someone’s children into the argument wasn’t appropriate.

However, Munawar quickly turned the discussion toward the physical aspect of the incident. He asked Mahima whether Deepika had apologised for hitting her chin. Mahima said she hadn’t received any apology.

The host expressed his frustration at the contestants who had blamed Mahima but didn’t stand up when she was allegedly hit. Most housemates agreed that Deepika’s action was wrong, with the exception of Nandini. Munawar further questioned why Mahima was being asked to apologise while Deepika had not been held accountable for the physical contact.

When confronted, Deepika became emotional and tried to explain that it hurts her deeply when people mention her family. Munawar, however, didn’t soften his stance and told her firmly that being hurt emotionally does not justify physical actions. “Ek aurat hokar aap doosri aurat ko maar nahi sakti,” he said.
Deepika eventually apologised to Mahima, saying that such behaviour was not part of her character. “Main aisi nahi hoon,” she insisted, adding that she sometimes loses control. She also admitted that the stressful living conditions and lack of food in the house had been affecting her mentally.

Munawar challenged this explanation, pointing out that everyone in the house was facing the same food shortage. When he asked the other contestants whether they were getting enough food, most of them said no, reinforcing his point that not everyone was reacting the way Deepika had.

Deepika acknowledged her mistake and apologised again, telling Mahima, “Mujhse control nahi hota hai, meri problem hai woh.” Munawar concluded by reminding her that personal struggles cannot become someone else’s burden to handle inside the game and one mistake can make her regret.

What started as a small disagreement ultimately turned into a serious house discussion about accountability, respect, and boundaries inside The Society Season 2.
