Director Karan D Kapadia is making rounds all over the internet for the right reasons ever since the power-packed trailer of his upcoming series, Hunkkaar – The Roar, was unveiled on September 10. In addition to the audience, the trailer has also attracted incredible attention from the audience and B-town, including Ranveer Singh. The Padmaavat star took to his social media handle to share the trailer on his stories alongwith a caption that read, “Top notch, my G! @kkapadias Knockout punch @nityamehra19!”

Not many know that Karan D Kapadia and Ranveer Singh have known each other for over two decades since school days, but it all happened when they collaborated for an advertisement on sexual protection. Karan D Kapadia directed the famous 2014 Do The Rex Durex campaign with the Bajirao Mastani star as its face, and it emerged as the talk of the town as Karan showcased his craft and cinematic skills to the world with the advertisement. Not only this, what made this collaboration even more interesting is the fact that this advertisement marked Kapadia’s debut with the flamboyant Ranveer Singh.

And now as Karan D Kapadia sits on the director’s chair for Hunkkaar – The Roar, Ranveer Singh’s support and shoutout somehow makes it a wholesome, full-circle moment!

Hunkkaar – The Roar premieres on September 25 on JioHotstar, bringing together a powerful ensemble featuring Aneet Padda, Raghubir Yadav, Fatima Shaikh, Arjun Mathur, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Ram Kapoor among others. Produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, in association with Purple Pebble Pictures, A Mangata Films Production, the series is helmed by Karan D Kapadia, Nitya Mehra and Heeraz Marfatia.
