Actress Alankrita Sahai leads by example in her exemplary and inspiring humanitarian work, becomes part of a special effort to ensure zero wastage of food to feed the needy!

Actress Alankrita Sahai, right from her Miss India days has displayed a tremendous amount of intelligence quotient, empathy and positivity. The fact that she actually ‘walks the talk’ and actually believes in implementing everything nice and productive that she’s talked about has always been immensely inspiring and no wonder, she’s a self-made star who’s a youth icon. Throughout her entire life, the diva has been a part of many interesting, thought-provoking and one-of-a-kind initiatives that have been beneficial for humanity and once again, we see the actress leading by example.

Despite all her hectic hustle and bustle in terms of her schedule, she always takes out time for humanitarian work and that’s truly amazing. This time, the actress was a part of a special effort to make food re-distribution easier and more accessible for the needy. On being asked to share more, she adds,

“Wastage of food has been a problem which needs to be addressed and this initiative is a step closer to that. While on one hand, there’s wastage of food happening, there are also so many people who can’t afford to have food on their plates. This was a big vacuum that needed to be fulfilled. That’s why, in an effort to make food re-distribution easier, the ‘Pack One For Pintu’ box was introduced which is a special collapsible box designed to help individuals pack their surplus food easily. We had started this by distributing these boxes inside newspapers in a few areas of Mumbai with a simple message which was to pack your surplus food and pass it forward. What’s incredible is that by lunchtime, over 500 households had contributed food and they were immediately packed to distribute to the ones in need. We ensured zero wastage with this and over the last few weeks, 4 successful drives have already happened and I look forward to being a part of more such drives. I joined hands with ‘Robin Hood Army’ & ‘Super You’ for this and had the most amazing experience. I really feel satisfied from within. You aren’t just ensuring food isn’t wasted, but you are also successfully feeding more people and that’s such a beautiful feeling. I hope everyone finds a way to do their bit to help and contribute with such causes.”
