The excitement around Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic saga, Ramayana: Part 1, has reached a new peak, and the latest reaction comes from filmmaker Karan Johar. Known for his keen eye for cinema, Karan took to his Instagram Stories to share his immediate thoughts after getting an early look at the film, leaving fans even more eager for its big-screen arrival.

For the unversed, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is handling the North Indian theatrical distribution for the film in the Hindi-speaking market, having joined hands with co-producers Namit Malhotra (DNEG) and Yash (Monster Mind Creations).
Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 features a star-studded ensemble led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. Mounted on an unprecedented scale, the film promises groundbreaking visual effects along with a powerful musical score jointly composed by Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Ramayana: Part 1 is set for a massive global theatrical release on November 5, 2026, across multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English, with screenings planned in IMAX and premium formats. The second part of the two-film cinematic event is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
