Mirzapur: The Movie creates history! Beats Awarapan 2 And Ranks 3rd in 2026’s Top 5 Advance Sales!
One of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema, Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios’ Mirzapur: The Movie, has finally arrived in theatres. Marking the much-awaited theatrical transition of India’s biggest OTT franchise, the film brings the iconic and widely loved world of Mirzapur to the big screen for the first time.
Mirzapur: The Movie has made a strong presence in the Top 5 advance booking battle! Competing with some of the year’s biggest releases, the film has surpassed Awarapan 2 and Cocktail 2 in Day 1 advance bookings. No streaming-to-theatre crossover in India has ever pre-sold at this scale!
Looking at the Day 1 advance booking gross data without block seats, Mirzapur: The Movie has collected ₹9.19 Cr. from 3,28,127 tickets sold, while Awarapan 2 stands at ₹8.57 Cr. with 2,85,802 tickets sold, and Cocktail 2 has grossed ₹5.57 Cr. with 1,61,693 tickets sold.
With this, Mirzapur: The Movie has secured the No. 3 spot in the advance booking rankings, surpassing Awarapan 2 and Cocktail 2, while Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 hold the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively.
Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur: The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, written by Puneet Krishna, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment. The film is co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani.Mirzapur: The Movie releases in cinemas on 4th September 2026.
