Rajkamal Studios Celebrates 125 Glorious Years of Chitrapati Dr. V. Shantaram with a Grand Ganesh Utsav Tribute

Rajkamal Kalamandir Studios marked Ganesh Utsav with a special celebration honouring the extraordinary legacy of legendary filmmaker and pioneer Chitrapati Dr. V. Shantaram, commemorating 125 glorious years of his enduring contribution to Indian cinema.

The celebration brought together the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi with a heartfelt tribute to a visionary who gave Indian cinema a distinctive language and left behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of filmmakers and artists.

The festivities featured a traditional aarti and darshan, along with a cultural experience dedicated to celebrating Dr. V. Shantaram’s remarkable journey and contribution to the world of cinema. The occasion beautifully brought together faith, culture and cinema, reflecting the values that have remained at the heart of the Rajkamal Studios legacy.

The 125th birth anniversary year of Chitrapati Dr. V. Shantaram served as a poignant reminder of his pioneering vision and the lasting influence of his work. His contribution to Indian cinema transcends generations, with his artistic vision continuing to serve as a guiding light for those who follow.

The celebration was hosted by Rajkamal Studios, with Kiran V. Shantaram, Chaitanya K. Shantaram and Shanthipriya coming together to honour his enduring legacy and celebrate the rich cultural and cinematic heritage he helped shape.

The set is a contemporary recreation inspired by V. Shantaram’s Navrang, a film celebrated for its vivid imagination, theatricality and distinctive visual language. For the celebration of 125 years of V. Shantaram, we revisit this iconic world through a recreated set, bringing a fragment of his cinematic imagination into the present. A tribute to the filmmaker who turned cinema into a world of colour, movement and spectacle.

The evening saw the presence of Shanti Priya, Kiran Shantaram, Madoo, Durga Jasraj, Chaitanya Shantaram, Shishya Shantaram, Gauravi Shantaram, Manjot Singh, Sudha Chandran, Jaswir Kaur, Sandip Soparrkar, Sahila Chaddha, Oma The Akk, Devika Khade & Many More.
