Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to hold its ground as an unmatched box-office phenomenon, with its record-breaking advance bookings proving difficult to surpass. The film had established itself as a monstrous blockbuster even before its theatrical release, riding on the extraordinary success of its predecessor, Dhurandhar, and the unprecedented anticipation surrounding the sequel.

The scale of this excitement was reflected in its advance ticket sales, with Dhurandhar 2 recording phenomenal pre-sales at the Indian box office. Particularly on Day 1, the film witnessed an extraordinary response, crossing the ₹50 crore mark in advance gross collections despite record paid previews. Its pre-release business set a formidable benchmark for subsequent releases.

One of the biggest contenders expected to challenge this record was Ramayana, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash. Mounted on an unprecedented scale and touted as the most expensive Indian film to date, the magnum opus carried considerable expectations. Given its subject, star cast and initial buzz, the film was anticipated to generate massive advance bookings. However, the latest figures suggest that it is unlikely to come close to Dhurandhar 2’s Day 1 pre-sales record.

According to Random Cine Mood, Ramayana has sold approximately 523K tickets on BookMyShow two days before release, compared to the impressive 1.1 million tickets sold by Dhurandhar 2 at the same stage. Furthermore, the film has grossed around ₹24 crore through Day 1 advance bookings at the Indian box office, with its final pre-sales expected to settle in the range of ₹32-37 crore. This leaves it considerably behind Dhurandhar 2, which crossed ₹50 crore in Day 1 advance gross collections.

With Ramayana falling short of the benchmark, Dhurandhar 2’s extraordinary advance booking record looks set to remain unbeaten, at least through 2026. Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster has once again demonstrated the unprecedented audience anticipation and commercial pull that the Dhurandhar franchise commands, further cementing its place as a landmark box-office phenomenon.
