Gaurav Khanna’s biggest fear of his career exposed on COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’

This week, a twist of hacking privacy turns the game on its head as Rohit Shetty confiscates the contestants’ phones and private conversations unexpectedly come into the spotlight. One chat that stands out is the one between daredevil Gaurav Khanna and Hussain Kuwajerwala, exposing a fear that has haunted him throughout his career – the fear of being labelled a ‘panauti’ by people in the television industry. The revelation uncovers that even while preparing himself for dangerous stunts, Gaurav had been carrying another burden altogether. He admitted that he constantly worried that if a show failed to take off, the blame would ultimately fall on him.

Gaurav Khanna shares,”There was a phase in my career when I was labelled as unlucky because a few of my shows didn’t run for very long. What started as conversations behind closed doors slowly turned into rumours that if I was part of a show, it wouldn’t work, and I genuinely started losing work because of that. It was heartbreaking because I always believed that a show’s success or failure is a collective effort, not the responsibility of one actor. There were moments when I even questioned myself, but I never stopped believing in my work. When Rohit sir unexpectedly asked about the message from my friend Hussain on Khatron Ke Khiladi, it brought back all those memories. He was simply reminding me that if I had survived much bigger challenges in life, I could definitely face these stunts. I’m glad that conversation happened because it lifted a burden I’d been carrying for years. I also know I’m not the only one; many actors from my generation have gone through similar experiences.
