Janmashtami Special: COLORS’ stars open up about their faith in Lord Krishna

Eisha Singh, playing the role of Juhi in COLORS’ ‘Juhi Mui’, shares, “Janmashtami has always been a special festival for me, especially growing up in Delhi. I have fond memories of celebrating it with my family, dressing up, listening to bhajans, and visiting temples to seek Krishna ji’s blessings before anything important in my life. Over the years, I’ve come to connect more deeply with the values he represents, faith, kindness, courage, and standing by what is right. These values also resonate throughout my acting journey whether it’s a crucial career decision I have to make or whether I’m playing Juhi, who continues to face challenges with strength and determination while holding on to the people she loves. This Janmashtami, I hope Krishna ji blesses everyone with happiness, courage, and the faith to keep moving forward.”

Aishwarya Khare, playing the role of Aarambhi in COLORS’ ‘Dr. Aarambhi’, shares,  Janmashtami has always been a very special festival for me. Growing up in Bhopal, I remember stepping out with my friends to enjoy the celebrations, soaking in the festive energy, listening to bhajans, and watching the excitement around Dahi Handi. As I’ve grown older, I’ve started connecting more with the faith, strength, and wisdom that Krishna imparts. His teachings are timeless, and I see them come alive in reality and every day on set. Right now, my character Aarambhi is facing people who threaten her dignity. Sri Krishna taught us that protecting your self-respect and standing up against injustice is the highest form of Dharma. That is exactly what Aarambhi is doing in this current track. This Janmashtami, I’m grateful for this show that has been touching so many hearts.”

Pravisht Mishra, playing the role of Krishna in COLORS’ ‘Bareilly Ke Bacchan’, shares, “Janmashtami has always been a very special festival for me, and this year, it feels even more special and almost like a beautiful coincidence. Janmashtami is celebrated on the fourth night at midnight, marking Krishna ji’s birth, and just a day later, on September 5, I celebrate my birthday. So, with me playing Krishna Bacchan this year, it feels like a rather special connection, almost as if the timing has come together with his blessings. Growing up, I remember celebrating Janmashtami with my family, listening to bhajans, visiting temples, and enjoying the festive atmosphere with so much excitement. As a child, Krishna ji was someone I associated with innocence, mischief and all the joy of childhood, but as I grew older, I began to understand the wisdom and compassion behind his teachings. This Janmashtami, I hope Kanha’s blessings bring happiness, strength and positivity to everyone, and that we continue to carry his teachings with us.”

Karan Wahi from COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ shares, “My relationship with spirituality has evolved beautifully over the years, and Krishna ji has become a very important part of that journey. I find a lot of comfort and positivity in his teachings and in the simple act of having faith. For me, Janmashtami is not just about celebrating Krishna ji’s birth, but also about celebrating everything he represents: joy, love, wisdom and the strength to believe in yourself. Even during my journey on ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, I found myself drawing on that sense of faith and inner calm before taking on a challenge. That experience also made me realise how much strength can come from trusting yourself and staying grounded. This Janmashtami, I pray that with his blessings, everyone finds the courage to conquer their fears and find the divine within.”

Sneha Wagh, playing the role of Vidya in COLORS’ ‘Mahadev & Sons’, shares, “Shri Radhe Thakur ji has been very close to my heart, and over the years, my relationship with him has only become much deeper and more personal. I am a Vrindavan bhakt at heart, and his presence in my life gives me peace, contentment and sense of belonging . While Vidya, my character in ‘Mahadev & Sons’, and I may have different journeys, but I connect with the character with sincerity, devotion, surrender and emotional strength she brings to the relationships in her life, which is something I truly enjoy portraying. Janmashtami holds a very different kind of joy for me because it brings that feeling of endearment to life. I love the energy of celebrating Thakur ji’s birth in this mortal world. the devotion around it and, of course, the excitement of Dahi Handi in Mumbai, where everyone comes together in the spirit of celebration. This Janmashtami, I pray that Thakur ji blesses everyone with love, happiness and the sense of devotion that makes life meaningful. Radhe Radhe!”
