Ahead of Batwara 1947 Release in 2 Days, Sunny Deol Stops At Victoria Memorial in Kolkata with Rajkumar Santoshi
Sunny Deol visited Kolkata’s iconic Victoria Memorial for the first time alongside director Rajkumar Santoshi during their promotional tour ahead of Batwara 1947’s release on 14th August, 2026
Aamir Khan Productions’ Batwara 1947, starring Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol, and Preity Zinta in the lead roles, has generated immense buzz among audiences ever since its teasers, songs, and powerful trailer were released. Set against the backdrop of India’s Partition, the film offers a moving tale of humanity, compassion, and courage during one of the darkest chapters in the history of the subcontinent. As the release date draws closer, the cast and crew have been actively promoting the film across multiple cities.
During the Kolkata leg of the promotional tour, Sunny Deol visited the iconic Victoria Memorial in West Bengal for the first time. He explored the city’s celebrated heritage landmark alongside director Rajkumar Santoshi and shared pictures and videos posing beside Kolkata’s famous yellow taxi with the Victoria Memorial in the backdrop. In the video, Sunny was heard saying, “Himmat ke aage jeet hai, darr ke aage nahi,” while expressing his happiness at returning to Kolkata and reminding fans that Batwara 1947 releases in cinemas in just two days.

BATWARA 1947 stars a stellar ensemble cast featuring Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol, Preity G Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh and marks the much-awaited reunion of Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol after nearly three decades.
Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, BATWARA 1947 is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on Partition Day, August 14, 2026.
