Prime Video Unveils the Trailer of MX Original Waiting Hai, a Quirky Scam Comedy Set in the World of Railway Ticketing

MUMBAI, India – 10th September 2026: Every Indian traveler knows the frustration of watching a waitlisted ticket refuse to move to confirm, but what if someone, somewhere, found a hack for it – one that eventually becomes a nationwide scam? Prime Video, India’s largest streaming service for exclusive Originals, today unveiled the trailer of its upcoming MX Original Waiting Hai, a quirky and rooted scam dramedy that takes one of the most recognisable hassles of everyday and turns it into a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game. Set in Patna, the series brings together Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora in a face-off where a clever hack threatens to become much bigger than anyone could have imagined. A Jio Studios presentation and Jar Pictures Production, the series is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker and Series Director Sameer Vidwans, and it also features Harshita Gaur, Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Srushti Tare and Sunita Rajwar in pivotal roles. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai, Waiting Hai puts a distinctly desi spin on the scam genre, finding humor and heart in the world of Railway ticket booking.

The trailer introduces Sugam Mishra, played by Divyenndu, a Railway Constable trying to find his footing in a demanding new job, navigating a difficult new boss while also dealing with the chaos at home. On the other side is Afroz Hamsa, played by Bhuvan Arora, a tech whiz who finds a way through the system. Soon, the two find themselves on opposite sides of a game neither saw coming. As tickets disappear in seconds and agents keep beating the rush, Sugam begins to suspect that the system is being played. With his wife Princy, played by Harshita Gaur, pushing him to dig deeper, Sugam starts following the trail. But the closer he gets to the truth, the harder Afroz is to catch. And just when Sugam thinks he may have finally got a handle on things, he notices railway tickets getting confirmed within seconds of the booking window opening, prompting him to investigate further. The question now is – how far does the racket go, and who is really pulling the strings?

Speaking about playing Sugam Mishra, Divyenndu shared, “What drew me to Sugam was that he is not your typical cop who has everything figured out. He is trying to find his feet professionally while also dealing with the realities of his personal and newly married life. That balance makes him very relatable, and I enjoyed exploring that side of him. Waiting Hai has this very rooted, desi humour to it, but there is also a cat-and-mouse chase at its core. I had a great time playing Sugam and I hope the audiences will have a lot of fun watching him uncover a scam that just keeps getting bigger.”

Sharing his experience of playing Afroz Hamsa, Bhuvan Arora added, “What really drew me to Afroz was how different he felt from me as an actor and as a person. He’s someone with a good heart, but he finds himself doing things that aren’t necessarily right, and that contradiction is what I really enjoyed exploring. His equation with Mamaji (played by Vijay Maurya) was another aspect of the character that I really relished. The script itself immediately appealed to me because it’s such a fun cat-and-mouse chase, set in a world that feels very different from what audiences usually see. Knowing that the story is also loosely based on real-life events made it even more intriguing for me. And then, of course, getting to work with such talented and veteran actors was an added bonus. Afroz has so many unexpected turns to his journey, and I genuinely enjoyed every bit of playing him.”
