The stunt that haunted and defeated Karan Wahi is back! Will he finally conquer it on COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’?
COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ has nailed the art of keeping its audience guessing, with blockbuster action king and host Rohit Shetty bringing unexpected challenges that push the contestants’ endurance to impossible limits. This week, that twist came with a particularly personal sting for Karan Wahi, as the show brought him face-to-face with a defeat he has carried for nearly nine years. The show has dug into his history to resurrect one of his biggest unfinished battles – the infamous water wheel stunt from Season 8. Strapped into a massive, vertically rotating wheel, contestants were required to unlock themselves while the contraption continuously plunged them underwater. The combination of physical exhaustion, freezing water and the psychological pressure of being repeatedly submerged made it one of the show’s most daunting elimination tasks. For Karan, it ended in defeat, leaving the stunt as a painful chapter in his Khatron journey. Now, almost nine years later, the show puts him through the exact stunt that once got the better of him. And with this being his third stint on the show adds another layer of pressure. Will he finally ace the stunt that has haunted him for nine years?
Talking about the stunt, Karan Wahi said, “Coming face-to-face with the water wheel after nine years was honestly one of the most intense moments of my Khatron Ke Khiladi journey. I remembered exactly what it felt like the last time – the panic, the pressure and, most importantly, walking away knowing that the stunt had beaten me. So when I saw it again this time, there was a very different battle happening in my head. And then you have four-degree water, being strapped into a wheel that keeps taking you underwater, and your body is screaming at you to get out. You have to control your fear, your breathing and that voice in your head telling you that you’ve been here before and you couldn’t do it. For me, this stunt became less about competing with the other contestants and more about competing with the version of myself who had failed it nine years ago. That is what made it so personal. This time, it was unfinished business. I had to trust Rohit Shetty sir who was constantly encouraging me and I had to also put faith in the person I had become in those nine years. As for whether I finally managed to conquer the water wheel this time around, you’ll have to watch the episode this weekend to find out.”
