Anjali Arora and Dev Sharma’s upcoming film ‘Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha’ unveils powerful second song ‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’
Following ‘Siya Ram’, the film’s second song brings alive the faith, courage and collective spirit of Shri Ram’s vanar sena
Mumbai, September 4, 2026: Bringing alive a powerful chapter from the Ramayana, Anjali Arora and Dev Sharma’s upcoming film Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha has unveiled its powerful second song, ‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’, following the release of its first track, Siya Ram.
Moving from the softer devotional mood of Siya Ram, Ram Ji Ki Sena captures the faith, courage, unity and determination of Shri Ram’s vanar sena as it moves towards Lanka. Rooted in devotion and driven by a shared purpose, the song draws from the journey towards Lanka and the building of the Ram Setu, with Ram Naam at the heart of its emotion and energy.
The recurring refrain “Ram Ji Ki Sena Chali” drives the track, while lyrics including “Ram naam se tare patthar, Ram ki mahima gaa kar” evoke the faith and resolve associated with this chapter of the Ramayana.
A distinctive aspect of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha is that both the film and its songs have been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi. Rather than creating the Chhattisgarhi version later as a dubbed adaptation, the film and its music have been filmed in both languages, giving each version its own linguistic and cultural identity. Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha will release in cinemas on 25 September 2026 in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi.
The film’s real-location approach was also recently highlighted through a BTS video featuring Dev Sharma and Anjali Arora from the shoot in Chitrakoot, Bastar, Chhattisgarh. Portions featuring Shri Ram and Mata Sita were filmed against the real landscapes traditionally associated with their vanvaas journey, instead of recreating those surroundings entirely through elaborate sets or VFX.
Dev Sharma, who portrays Shri Ram in the film, says, “‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’ is about the faith and collective strength with which Ram Ji’s entire vanar sena moves forward to restore dharma over adharma. That unity, courage and sense of purpose make this chapter incredibly powerful.”
Nirbhay Wadhwa, who portrays Hanuman, adds, “For Hanuman ji, devotion to Shri Ram is his strength and his purpose. ‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’ carries that bhakti along with tremendous energy and determination.”
The Hindi version of Ram Ji Ki Sena has been sung by Farhad Bhiwandiwala, while Sunil Soni has lent his voice to the Chhattisgarhi version. The music has been composed by Ashish Donald and Dev Chauhaan, with lyrics penned by Jaidev Jonwal. Himanshu Rawat is the Assistant Composer, the track has been mixed and mastered by Deepak Poojary and Chayan Dey, while the choreography has been designed by Hemanshu Kumaar.
Speaking about the Hindi version, Farhad Bhiwandiwala says, “The song has a very powerful energy from the moment it begins. There is devotion, but also a constant sense of movement and determination. As a singer, the idea was to retain the bhakti while giving the song the strength and scale that ‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’ demands.”
Sunil Soni, who has sung the Chhattisgarhi version, says, “Bringing a song like ‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’ into Chhattisgarhi is very special because the emotion has to remain equally powerful and natural in the language. I wanted the Chhattisgarhi rendition to have its own identity while preserving the spirit and energy of the composition.”
With Siya Ram and now Ram Ji Ki Sena, the film’s music is gradually opening up different dimensions of the Ramayana, moving from the more intimate emotions associated with Shri Ram and Mata Sita to the energy, faith and collective resolve of the vanar sena.
Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha stars Dev Sharma as Shri Ram, Anjali Arora as Mata Sita, Sheel Verma as Lakshman, Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman and Rajniesh Duggal as Ravan.
Presented by A J Film’s Entertainment World, headed by Ajay Kanojiya, Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha is a Mahobiya Films Production, produced by Prakash Mahobiya and Sanjay Bundela and directed by Abhishek Singh. The film is co-produced by Monika Sen, Honey Kuldeep Agrawal and Jugal Tiwari, with Anand Tiwari (AJ Films) as Associate Producer.
‘Ram Ji Ki Sena’ is out now in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi.
