“These bruises are my permanent trophies”: Shagun Sharma opens up about aborting stunts after exiting COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’

The relentless stunts and grueling arena of COLORS’ ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ have claimed another contestant. Television star Shagun Sharma’s quest for the ultimate title came to a halt following a nerve-shredding elimination challenge against formidable competitors Jasmine Bhasin and Harsh Gujral.

The actress, widely celebrated for her vibrant and bubbly onscreen persona, found herself pushed to the absolute brink in the rugged terrain of Cape Town. While Shagun faced moments of crushing vulnerability, even making the agonizing choice to abort stunts that drew a legendary, fiery reprimand from taskmaster Rohit Shetty, she also gave the show some incredible moments of courage.

In a phenomenal, timed flag-retrieval stunt, Shagun went head-to-head with the formidable Rubina Dilaik, securing a spectacular victory by collecting six flags in fifteen minutes against Rubina’s five. Her determination shattered all personal boundaries; despite being a strict vegetarian, she fearlessly stuffed live insects into her mouth to ace a gruesome stunt. Even when a massive python coiled tightly around her neck, Shagun remained herself, flexing her knowledge about reptiles and cracking jokes while staring danger down.

Reflecting on her exit, Shagun shares, “This is a historic season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, and the stunts this year have truly been death-defying. To have been a part of this adrenaline ride feels absolutely amazing. I left Cape Town with a chipped tooth, fading bruises and physical wounds, but I look at them with pride; these scars are my permanent trophies and a remembrance of what I survived. Watching myself on Khatron Ke Khiladi gave me a reality check I didn’t know I needed. Seeing myself get so scared and not perform the way I had hoped made me realise something much bigger than the show: I am far more consumed by fear than I ever thought I was. The show made me come face-to-face with a part of myself I had never really acknowledged, and for that, I am genuinely grateful. I do have regrets, not performing the way I hoped for, but sometimes the biggest takeaway isn’t what you achieve on the show, it’s what you discover about yourself. I’ve realised I don’t want fear to decide the size of my life anymore. I want to be braver, I want to try and live a little more fearlessly.”
