Premiering on 27th December and thereafter airing at 8:00 PM every Saturday-Sunday only on COLORS, ‘Naagin 7’ promises a serpentainment spectacle like no other. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who essays the role of the season’s serpent queen, shares her thoughts about carrying forward the legacy of the iconic fantasy franchise.

1. ‘Naagin’, which is Ekta Kapoor’s most celebrated popular fantasy fiction franchise has starred popular actors in its previous seasons like Mouni Roy, Hina Khan, Surbhi Jyoti, Anita Hassanandani, Nia Sharma, Surbhi Chandna, Tejasswi Prakash and Adaa Khan amongst others. How does it feel to take the legacy ahead and essaying the titular role?*
A. I’m beyond excited to begin this new journey! It’s such a dream come true that Ekta ma’am kept the promise she made to me during my Bigg Boss 16 journey that I would be her next Naagin. This is my first time working with Balaji Telefilms, and reuniting with COLORS makes it even more special. Starring in Naagin, a show that has redefined fantasy on Indian television, feels surreal and knowing the love the franchise already commands makes me want to give everything I’ve got. Ekta ma’am’s vision has always been ahead of its time, and bringing her creation to life feels like both a privilege and a huge responsibility. Every Naagin before me has been iconic, and I hope to bring my own essence to this season while honouring the mystique and legacy that fans have cherished for years.

2. Tell us something about the show?
Naagin 7 takes the franchise to a new level. This season isn’t just about revenge or love, it’s about a Naagin on a greater mission, facing challenges beyond her world. At its core, it’s the story of a daughter born into a legacy she didn’t choose but must protect. When an ancient power awakens to confront a new darkness, her journey becomes one of self-discovery, justice, and stepping into her true power. With a blend of mythology and mystical creatures, Naagin 7 promises the most thrilling and powerful chapter of the franchise yet.

3. Tell us something about your character.
A. My character is a simple, timid girl who doesn’t realize she carries a power within her. I connect with her innocence, strength, and the journey of finding strength in vulnerability. As the story unfolds, she discovers she’s the heir to the mighty Vasuki Dynasty, destined to rise against dark forces threatening the world. She must fight for her people, her legacy, and the survival of an entire world. Even as she transforms into a fierce Naagin, she never loses her human heart and portraying that balance between vulnerability and power has been truly special.

4. What are you looking forward to in the show Naagin 7?
A. The most exciting thing about Naagin 7 is how refreshingly different and grand this season feels. The story unfolds on a much larger, more cinematic scale, it’s not just about revenge or love anymore but about fighting the biggest battle against a deadly supernatural crisis. This time, the Naagin world expands in thrilling new ways, introducing powerful mystical creatures like dragons, beings of immense strength and fire that bring an entirely new dimension of fantasy and danger to the story. And on a personal note, I can’t wait for all the viewers who supported me during my Bigg Boss journey to see this new, powerful chapter.

5. How has the experience of working with your co-stars been like?
A. We started shooting a month back, and it’s been a magical experience so far! The first few days were filled with excitement but the warmth and positivity from everyone on set instantly made it feel like home. I’m learning so much about what it takes to bring a fantasy to life on screen. There’s a lot of VFX involved, and you’re often reacting to things that don’t exist in front of you- a creature, a storm, or a transformation. The team is incredibly talented, and my co-stars bring such great energy, we have this fun, creative vibe on set that makes even the most intense days feel exciting.

6. What has changed in your life since you onboarded ‘Naagin 7’?
A. Since coming on board Naagin 7, my relationship with the fantasy genre has deepened. Being part of this world has made me realise how much imagination, precision, and faith it takes to bring mythology and fantasy alive on screen in a way that feels authentic. I’ve developed more respect for the creators, writers, VFX teams, and technicians who treat this genre with sincerity. Ever since I was signed on, I’ve started visiting a nag mandir every morning to pray. It’s become a grounding ritual for me. This journey has made me more mindful of the invisible forces such as faith, discipline, and collective creativity that go into creating something this powerful.

7. How has your experience been working with Ekta Kapoor for Naagin 7?
A. Working with Ekta ma’am has truly been a dream come true. She is a creative force like no other a visionary whose fearless imagination has redefined storytelling on Indian television time and again. What I admire most about her is how she balances clarity of vision with the freedom she gives her actors to explore and bring their own truth to a character. Being part of a world she’s created, one that continues to captivate, surprise, and inspire audiences, is an absolute honour. Every interaction with her leaves you inspired and pushes you to tap into layers of yourself you didn’t even know existed.

8. What message do you want to give to our readers/viewers?
A. Naagin 7 will take you on an emotional, thrilling ride full of surprises and heartfelt moments. It’s about courage, self-discovery, and embracing your destiny. I hope you enjoy every bit of it and feel as connected to the story as we do. I’m excited about bonding with you all through this show.
