Bhumi Satish Pednekkar Shares Intriguing Trivia from Daldal, Recalls First Reaction Upon Knowing her Character & Plot

Bhumi Satish Pednekkar is back in her gritty era with the upcoming series, Daldal. Giving audiences a peek into the world of her ambitious project, the actress recalled interesting instances, one where she took a dive into the psyche of her character, DCP Rita Ferreira. She even looked back at the discussions with producer Suresh Triveni, playfully revealing that they would have healthy arguments about her character, considering that Rita Ferreira’s nature is controlled and inexpressive.

As the series is based on Vish Dhamija’s best-selling book ‘Bhendi Bazaar’, Bhumi reveals her reaction upon reading the script of Daldal. Given the internalized still nature of her character, Rita, Bhumi says that the personality was a tough one to crack. “That’s why it took me 4-5 months,” explains Bhumi, adding that she would be involved in deep discussions and healthy arguments with producer Suresh Triveni to crack the vibe of Rita Ferreira.

Speaking about the same, Bhumi says, “For example, the first time she (Rita) sees a dead body, she’s like, have I done this? Like, what’s going on? And I was like, maybe she’ll throw up. He (Suresh Triveni) was like, no. She will not throw up because that’s the first thing you see people do. I said, then what do I do? What am I supposed to do?” she adds.

Bhumi indicates that the journey of Daldal and playing DCP Rita Ferreira was creatively fulfilling. “So, it was these little nuances and a lot that happened on set was so different. And also, every time she saw her mother, the way she reacts is different. So, her spectrum is so small that I had to be creative within that. I was exhausted by the end of it, exhausted to be still. I don’t think I was ever this happy when something was done,” she concludes.

Helmed by Amrit Raj Gupta and produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni, Daldal is an Abundantia Entertainment production. It stars Bhumi Satish Pednekkar as DCP Rita Ferreira, alongside Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal in leading roles.

Daldal is set to premiere on Prime Video in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide on January 30.
